Alecia Neo (Singapore)
Alecia Neo is a visual artist based in Singapore. A large part of Alecia’s artistic practice is about exploring the relationship between people, their contexts and their living spaces; reflecting on how our identity is embedded in our possessions and homes. Working primarily with photography, video and installation, she produces bodies of portraits involving a variety of individuals, overlooked communities and their spaces. She seeks to strike a chord with her audience through common human experiences of alienation and loneliness, dislocation and belonging, and the search for self. She has been commissioned by the  Singapore Art Museum, M1 Singapore Fringe Festival, the National Library Board (Singapore) and the National Arts Council (Singapore) for several art projects. Her art works have been exhibited in various international festivals and galleries such as Singapore Art Museum (Singapore), Valentine Willie Fine Art (Singapore), Singapore International Photography Festival, the International Orange Festival (China), University of Bangkok (Thailand), Cittadellarte (Italy) and Noordelicht International Photo Festival (Netherlands). She is also Artist Lead for Brack, an arts platform for socially-engaged artists and their projects.

Alex Lee 李凱詮 (Malaysia)

Alex Lee lives and works in George Town, Penang. He is an architect and spend other half of his time in a shared art studio/ workshop for his own projects or helping other artists as a technician. He is interested in participatory public art and have experience in it, particularly in exploring the power play in public spaces, like how defensive designs deny undesired users access to certain area. He is currently looking at using the phenomenon of flashy LED billboards and it’s high viewership at long wait cycles at traffic lights in a small project.

Alice Ko  柯念璞 (Taiwan)
Alice Ko is freelance curator working in Hong Kong and Japan.She specialises in use of urban spaces, inspired by the development that took place in East Asia after the war. She believes this part of history gives these areas an interesting twist and an opportunity to incorporate art with political and social messages. She uses her work to encourage public participation and creative use of these slowly regenerating urban spaces.

Bhumin Dhanaketpisarn, Makhampom Theater Group  (Thailand)
Bhumin Dhanaketpisarn graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, he is now working as a senior volunteer at Makhampom Foundation and gathered his experiences in arts since 1980s by learning Thai classical music, traditional dance and Thai folk opera Likay.
Makhampom Theater Group has been founded in 1980 by group of democracy activists, we use the theater as a tool for grassroots action, be a social community of generations of volunteers. Do the touring theater for awareness and dialogue in Thailand and overseas. We develop youth theater groups throughout Thailand, creating a theater style blending the traditional and contemporary, practicing the popular art forms of our volunteer and audiences such as Likay, physical theater, puppetry, circus, intercultural theater. Caique Tizzi, Agora Collective (Germany)

Caique Tizzi is an artist, curator and cultural producer born in São Paulo, Brazil and based in Berlin since 2009. His practice is dedicated to the conceptualization of collaborative frameworks, exploring notions of affection, generosity and togetherness.
Specially interested in investigating the social and its iconographies, his projects are based in participatory processes and experimental methods of group work.
In 2011, Caique formed Agora Collective in Berlin – a non profit project space and art collective that hosts a food laboratory, art studios, office and event spaces. Agora is a prototype of a community and develops formats and projects on its values: diversity, self-organisation and social ties.
Caique Tizzi has presented work at Freies Museum Berlin, Instituto Cervantes Berlin, L ́́Atelier KSR, Saalbau Galerie, Berliner Pool and Kunstlerhaus Bethanien in Germany.

Chen, Guan-Jhang 陳冠彰 (Taiwan)
Chen, Guan-Jhang is an artist based in Taiwan. In his hometown, he runs a studio-like space where he teach liberal arts and art to children. He is interested in local narratives, indigenous culture, folk religion, liberal arts, etc. For the past seven years, he has been video-recording the life of an indigenous shaman in the hope of figuring out what the role of a shaman is and what it means to be a shaman in a contemporary social context. To answer the questions, he intends to start from researching on and writing about the shaman’s family history.

Djuwadi, Taring Padi (Indonesia)

Djuwadi is a self taught artist from Central Java, Indonesia.  Djuwadi’s art practice began as a traditional wood carver and community artist. In 1999 he was introduced to the political art collective Taring Padi and became interested in wood cut printing and political art practice. Since joining Taring Padi his own practice has developed to span woodcut printing and carving, street art, visual and performance art and community art practice. Djuwadi is  inspired by a mix of traditional woodcarving, contemporary art and activism. He has exhibited, collaborated, worked on festivals and run workshops in Indonesia, Australia, Timor Leste (East Timor), Thailand, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea and the USA. Djuwadi believes that artists and art are mediums to  raise awareness, learn together and strengthen knowledge about  human rights, equality,  culture, the environment, social, economic, and political democratic participatory practice.

Elaine W. Ho 何穎雅 (Hong Kong/ USA)
Elaine Ho works between the realms of time-based art, urban practice and design, using multiple vocabularies to explore the micropolitics, subjectivities and the alter-possibilities of an intimate, networked production. The act of describing takes on a number of forms——a kind of grammar, a documentation, a gesture, a biography——or a project in Beijing known as HomeShop. She is the initiator of the artist-run space, active from 2008-2013, and was most recently a fellow at the Institut für Raumexperimente in Berlin. Haymann Oo is the assistant director and curator of New Zero Art Space. It is the one and only independent art space in Myanmar, which provides artist in residency program, art exchange programs between Myanmar and other countries, art education programs, exhibitions, art festivals and other contemporary art movements in Myanmar. Jakob Bartnik (Germany)

Jakob Bartnik was born in Poland and is based in Osnabrück, Germany.  Jakob is an art-teacher, artist, curator and co-founder, together with Manila Bartnik, of the Bartnik-Project-Room. The Project-Room is a non-profit platform for the production and presentation of artwork containing ephemeral and temporary aspects. The place also offers artist residencies to develop site-specific work.
As an artist, he developed minimal object theatre plays and big open-air installations. He also performed interventions in public space. As Artist couple, Jakob & Manila work also as free curators and developed 2014 the one-year programme “okidoki” including 5 exhibitions at the Stadtgalerie Osnabrück. Their focus is on locality, site-specificy and community. Their actual long-term project is “The Posemukel Thing” in Poland in a tiny village. The conceptual idea is to explore collectively the common needs and belonging of the locals.

Lee Cheah Ni graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts, Department of Fine Arts. Lim Paik Yin 林碧雲 (Malaysia)
Lim Paik Yin works with photography, spoken words and performance art. Graduating with a Bachelors in Media Innovation and Management, her art education is supplemented through workshops organized by galleries, collectives and cultural institutions with bases in Malaysia. Returning to Malaysia in 2008, she has worked as a photo researcher in a stock photography company and started creating photo essays in 2011. Her photography work has since evolved to incorporate her practice in performance art. Her current work questions the validity of personal identity and space.

Misako Ichimura 市村美佐子 (Japan)
Misako Ichimura has lived in a homeless community in a Tokyo park called the Blue Tent Village since 2003. She has been actively engaged in various projects including creating artworks, writing essays, and organizing workshops on themes such as feminism, capitalism and anti-gentrification.

Okui Lala 周盈貞 (Malaysia)
Okui Lala (b. 1991, Penang, Malaysia) enjoys taking photos, videos and talking to people. Since graduating from Multimedia University, Cyberjaya with a degree in Media Art, she has explored various mediums: from creating experimental videos, designing visuals for performances to conducting photography workshops within communities. Okui is currently working on her “As if____” series, a project that she has been working on since 2012 on the topic migration. Her most recent work “Let’s Drink and Eat Tea!” looks into the traces of history of the early Burmese settlement in Penang and the recent migration culture in the city though road’s name and Burmese food- Lahpet Thoke (Burmese tea salad).

Renan Laru-an, Discussion Laboratory (The Phillipines)
As a researcher and curator whose practice lies in the differentiation of knowledge sites and knowledge scenes, Renan is keen to learn how practitioners in the region and in German position themselves in the discursive architecture and choreography of their communities, say in an artist-run space, a collective, a research department, a graduate program, or a production company. The questions on discursivity act as a vector in apprehending how we could talk about the public and how we could organize long-term and sustained inquiry on the making of the public or how the social creates our configuration of public as a subject.

Rika Aki 安岐理加 (Japan)
Rika Aki is an artist from the Teshima Island located in the Seto Inland Sea in Western Japan. Her works are based on community art and management of an alternative space. She has participated in AAF projects since 2005, conducted in various locations such as Okinawa, Tokushima, Aomori, Yamanashi and Miyagi. In 2012, she started a project Teshimano-mado in the Teshima Island, which is the hometown of her father, and has run an alternatice space since 2013. Teshimano-mado archives oral history, organize workshops and is also open as a cafe space. It is part of AAF since 2012.

Zulu Kageyama 蔭山千鸖, Art Lab Ova (Japan)
Art Lab Ova is the Art projects of Zulu KAGEYAMA and Kuri SUZUKI. They have organized nonprofit corporation as their art projects since 1996 and in 2010 opened the Yokohama Paradise Hall next to a movie theater in Wakabacho Yokohama where is the old downtown, just between former biggest red light districts and various nationalities people
are live in. Various projects have been launched based on the relationships between people around Art Lab Ova. The issue of “survival” and the issue of “expression” are considered side by side and the question of what art can do in a context on a complex social reality is explored and then put it into practice in everyday life.
